Laboratory and Pilot Plants

VTA offers laboratory and pilot-scale distillation units for feasibility testing, process development, and scale-up. Laboratory units are manufactured with borosilicate glass components, enabling visual observation of foaming, fouling, and film distribution. They are available as single- or multi-stage wiped film or short path evaporators and allow continuous processing of small product quantities up to several kilograms, with capacities from 20 g/h to 5 kg/h and operating pressures down to 0.001 mbar(a).

Pilot units bridge the gap between laboratory and industrial scale and are used to generate scale-up data and produce sample quantities up to several metric tons. They operate at capacities from 3 kg/h to 100 kg/h, offer evaporator sizes from 0.06 to 0.5 m², and are built from stainless steel and special alloys, with single- or multi-stage configurations available.
