Product description
Serratiopeptidase (also known as serrapeptase) is a proteolytic enzyme with potent anti-inflammatory properties. It was originally discovered and isolated from the bacterium Serratia marcescens E-15, which resides in the intestines of silkworms. Serratiopeptidase is a metalloprotease belonging to the serralysin family, containing zinc in its structure, with a molecular weight ranging from approximately 45 to 60 kDa.
Serratiopeptidase has been used clinically as an oral anti-inflammatory agent for decades, with broad applications across surgery, orthopedics, otorhinolaryngology, gynecology, and dentistry. Compared to conventional non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), serratiopeptidase provides anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effects without the significant side effects commonly associated with NSAIDs.
