SVZ closes purée plant

polish-flag-wind-against-clear-sky-30282577Fruit and vegetable ingredient supplier SVZ has announced that its purée concentrate processing activity in Karczmiska will close on 31 December 2015.

A review of the company’s operational footprint determined that centralising the Polish production at SVZ’s Tomaszów facility would create an optimal platform to invest in upgrading the purée concentrate capability. The transfer of production between the plants has, said the company, been planned to provide customers with a seamless transition and ensure production expertise is safeguarded.

“We have not taken the decision to close the production activity in Karczmiska  lightly,” said Anouk ter Laak, CEO of SVZ. “We regret the effect the closure will have on the staff at Karczmiska and are working closely with outplacement agencies to support affected employees at this time. By consolidating our operations in Tomaszów, we will be able to offer customers a wider range of purée concentrate products and safeguard the future of our business.”
