Covi-ox® is Kensing’s plant-based mixed tocopherol solution developed to protect food, beverage, and supplement formulations from oxidative degradation. It is a high-purity, clean-label antioxidant system based on natural mixed tocopherols, including alpha, beta, gamma, and delta homologs, designed to help stabilize oils and fats while preserving finished-product quality.

From a technical standpoint, Covi-ox® functions by preventing lipid oxidation, one of the main causes of rancidity, off-flavors, color changes, and loss of freshness in fat-containing systems. Kensing positions mixed tocopherols as highly effective natural antioxidants, with materials stating they can be 2 to 3 times more effective than other natural and synthetic antioxidants in protecting formulations from oxidation. Covi-ox® is also described as having low volatility at high temperatures, which helps retain antioxidant activity during processing steps such as baking, drying, extrusion, and frying.

Covi-ox® is designed to help protect flavor and color, preserve freshness, and extend shelf life without imparting odor, flavor, or color to the final product. Its excellent oil solubility and physical stability make it suitable for a wide range of applications, including fats and oils, meat and poultry, baked goods, cereals, and other products where oxidative stability is critical.
