Product description
Royal jelly (also called queen feed or queen bee jelly) is the secretion produced by honeybees to feed their queen. This mixture is obtained from the secretions of the hypopharyngeal and mandibular glands of worker bees and is used to feed bee larvae during the first three larval stages. After this initial feeding, worker bee larvae receive only pollen and honey, whereas the queen larva continues to be fed royal jelly until her cell is capped.
Some of the most interesting facts include that the queen larva reaches 800 times its initial weight within just a few days and has the ability to lay up to 2,000 eggs daily. Additionally, the queen bee lives about 50 times longer than her worker counterparts. It is well established that royal jelly contains amino acids, vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and enzymes. Particularly noteworthy is the free fatty acid 10-HDA (10-Hydroxy-2-decenoic acid), which is very rare in nature but found in high concentrations in royal jelly. Royal jelly is valued for enhancing physical and mental performance as well as supporting the body’s natural regeneration.
