We have obtained the Class A Energy Efficiency Certificate in our facilities

  • The recent extension of the building, together with the installation of the photovoltaic panels, has managed to reduce the consumption of Non-Renewable Primary Energy by 36%
  • In addition, a reduction in annual carbon dioxide emissions of 10 kgCO2/m² has also been achieved.

After the recent expansion and renovation of the premises in Cartagena, MARNYS – MARTÍNEZ NIETO, S.A. has obtained the Class A Energy Efficiency Certificate for its facilities. Sustainability and responsibility for the environment is one of the key pillars of the company, which has been working under strict quality, safety and innovation standards for over 50 years.

In particular, the company has reduced its consumption of Non-Renewable Primary Energy by 36%, together with a reduction in annual carbon dioxide emissions of 10 kgCO2/m², thus reaching the highest level on the Class A Energy Rating Scale for construction.

In this way, the facilities are completely sustainable in the environmental field and contribute efficiently in its performance. 

Among other improvements, the building has the production of electrical energy for self-consumption thanks to the installation of photovoltaic panels with a power output and consumption of 1,000Kw/year.

In addition, the building has been improved in the area of climate control and the ACS system with heat recovery or controlled LED lighting using natural light.

QUALITY, FOOD SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATIONS

In accordance with its environmental commitment, MARNYS – MARTÍNEZ NIETO, S.A. has begun the process of certification in ISO 14001, an international standard of environmental management aimed at reducing environmental impacts and contributing to the protection of the environment, which allows the company to establish an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) following international standards.

In the first trimester of 2020, the company has also renewed three key certifications for the development of the company’s activity, such as IFS FOOD, version 6.1, regarding the quality and food safety of products; GMP according to FDA 21 CFR Part 111, which certifies that products are manufactured in a proper and controlled manner; and the international ISO 9001:2015 standard on quality management.
