Guaifenesin

Guaifenesin is a commonly used expectorant. It works by stimulating the secretion of respiratory mucosa, thinning sputum to make it easier to cough up. It is mainly used to treat symptoms like cough with excessive, hard-to-expel sputum caused by acute or chronic bronchitis, the common cold, bronchiectasis, etc. Often combined with other drugs into compound preparations, it relieves respiratory obstruction and improves breathing conditions.
