Jujube Seed Extract

It’s extracted from the seed of Ziziphus jujuba by CO2 extraction plus alcohol extraction. Light yellow to brownish yellow powder. The product is with low oil content, good liquidity, and is easy to be pressed, but not easy to absorb moisture.

Sedative effects and sleep aid
Jujube seed has been used with a long history for sedative and hypnosis.Modern experimental studies suggest that the main active ingredients in jujube seed for acting on the central nervous system are flavonoids and saponins. Jujubosides can decrease the locomotors activity in mice; cooperate with pentobarbital sodium to inhibit the activity of central nerve system; significantly prolong the pentobarbital sodium-induced sleeping time in mice; antagonize the central excitatory induced by amphetamine. A study also found the jujube seed extract possessed anxiolytic effect at lower dose and sedative effect at higher dose.
Immune support
Studies have found jujube seed extract can significantly improve the lymphocyte transformation and antibody hemolysin in mice, as well as enhance the phagocytic function of mononuclear macrophages. Jujube seed extract can also enhance the humoral immunity and cellular immune function, and can prolong the survival time of irradiated mice.
Support cardiovascular health
Jujube seed extract has the effects on anti-myocardial ischemia and anti-hyperlipidemic, and the effective ingredients are jujubosides and monomeric ferulic acid.
Reduce blood pressure
A study has found that the jujuboside had a significant reducing effect on primary hypertensive rats, and the antihypertensive effect was manifested at 0.5h after administration of jujuboside, and the efficacy disappeared at 7.5h after administration.
