Product description

SAMe (S-adenosyl-L-methionine) is the body's principal methyl donor. Methylation regulates gene expression, maintains cell membranes, contributes to cartilage matrix synthesis, and drives production of serotonin, dopamine, and melatonin. The body makes SAMe continuously, but levels decline with age. One upstream molecule, three downstream benefits: joint comfort, liver function, and mood.

SAMe exists as two diastereomers, and only the (S,S) form is recognized by the methyltransferase enzymes. Because SAMe is hygroscopic, residual moisture converts (S,S) to (R,S) over shelf life.

Vesta® Nutra's SAMe is supplied at greater than 75% (S,S)-isomer, with low moisture and low ash content.

SAMe is available in enteric-coated tablets and fine chemical forms.
