29 Jan 2025

US supplements player Metabolic Maintenance is entering the fast-growing nootropics category with the launch of its latest supplement, metaMIND, a patented cognitive performance complex available in gummy and capsule formats.

Metabolic Maintenance already has a substantial portfolio of supplements targeting brain function under the MetaMIND brand name. The recent addition of the Nootropic Capsules & Gummies brings the complete Cognition range to 17 SKUs.

Both of the new lines include MetaMind’s Nutricog blend, which combines Boswellia serrata and Terminalia chebula extracts, to provide a patented formulate that has been clinically backed to provide enhanced neural health and brain function.

Targeting lifestyles where optimal cognitive function is imperative

The new range has been designed to meet demand for modern lifestyle demands that can put added pressure on brain function, particularly for those who have careers where razor sharp focus is crucial.

“While Metabolic Maintenance does offer other products that support various aspects of brain health, MetaMIND was designed specifically for the modern consumer of nootropics. The type of individual who is looking for enhanced focus and attention, likely in front of a screen, but also cares about optimal health and nutrition,” said Laura Lewis, spokesperson for Metabolic Maintenance.

“MetaMIND's ingredients have been shown clinically to provide these benefits, without any added exposure to synthetic chemicals and toxins.”

Nootropics is a clear driver for cognitive health

Nootropics, also known as smart drugs, have evolved off the back of synthetic compounds specifically developed to enhance cognitive function. Typical nootropic formulations include ingredients such as caffeine to enhance attention and L-theanine to complement the impact of the caffeine.

With clinical data sometimes lacking in the nootropics category, Metabolic Maintenance believes its clinical trials lend it a competitive edge. In addition to this, the inclusion of the Nutricog complex means that the formulation combines botanical extracts, with clinical trials showing positive outcomes for verbal and visual episodic memory, learning capacity and speed, concentration, and working memory.

“Not only is MetaMIND one of the cleanest nootropic supplements on the market with both fast-acting, and long-term brain health benefits, it also contains nutrients that protect vision and eye-health in the face of blue light from screens,” said Lewis.

“Our capsules are vegan, allergen-free, sugar-fee, and preservative-free, for those interested in the nootropic trend benefits, without any additives that pose health challenges or ingredient aversions.”

Nootropics annual growth rate hits double-digit figures

According to market intelligence provider The Business Research Company, the global market for nootropics is experiencing rapid growth, with the market estimated to be worth $5.2 billion in 2024. A keen interest in the category means the market researcher is predicting compound annual growth of 14.8% in 2025, which could see the category reach a value of $6 billion by the end of the year.

Looking ahead, companies like Metabolic Maintenance are likely to be well-positioned to tap into this type of growth if they respond with offerings that hit markers for brain-focused supplements.

Metabolic Maintenance has just confirmed this week that it is being acquired by WM Partners, a Florida-based business and a private equity player focused on the health and wellness sector. WM Partners’ portfolio currently consists of eight brands, including Prime6, ARC, Great Lakes, FGO, and Vega, although none of these brands have a specific focus on nootropics.
