The world’s largest food group Nestlé has more than 11,600 suppliers around the globe. Kräuter Mix from Abtswind ranks among the best in Germany. This was confirmed to Managing Partner Bernhard Mix and Head of Sales Dorell Laudenbach at the Nestlé headquarters in Frankfurt am Main.

At the Nestlé Supplier Award ceremony, German CEO Marc Boersch and Head of Procurement Gaby Symonds honored the Lower Franconian producer of air-dried vegetable raw materials as the top 20 supplier for its outstanding achievements in the areas of innovation, service and cooperation as well as sustainability and flexibility. “This award is a great appreciation for us and a confirmation of our customer orientation,” said Bernhard Mix. “The certificate gets a place of honour with us”.

In particular, the Nestlé managers appreciated the product quality and long-term sustainability activities at Kräuter Mix carried out by an in-house team of experts in Abtswind. “Our social and ecological commitment is well above the industry average,” said Dorell Laudenbach. This was also demonstrated at the award ceremony by the fact that Kräuter Mix was nominated as the only supplier of dried herbs, vegetables and spices, and the other award winners came from other fields.

For more than 25 years now Nestlé has been purchasing products from Kräuter Mix. The large bandwidth ranges from garlic and onions to culinary herbs and Mediterranean herbs and on to various spices. This makes the food group one of the largest customers of the Abtswind family-owned company, which has been in existence for 100 years and generated sales of 115 million euros in 2018 with its 420 employees.
