Safe and functional by nature
Lactic acid has been with humankind from the beginning. Not only is it part of the human metabolism, it also occurs naturally in a
range of fermented foods that have been produced for thousands of years. Nowadays, lactic acid and its salts, the lactates, are used in
a wide range of applications and industries, including but not limited to food, drinks, personal care, cleaning, and agriculture. Thus
lactic acid is no longer just a minor, incidental component of certain traditional foods, it is intentionally produced for the benefit of
peoples, markets and the environment.
