Coriander Seed

Coriander has been an essential part of our nutritional food intake. It is an annual herb with tender green leaves and globular, dry schizocarp seeds with 3–5 mm diameter. These are popularly known as cilantro or dhania. High-quality coriander seeds are obtained by the hollering process using the holler/husker machine that removes the plant’s leaves/dust. Dried coriander has been used as a perennial herb that adds pleasant lemony aromatic taste, and fragrance to the everyday dishes as well as for health gain. It is applied to veg and non-veg curries or fried items like cutlets, fast foods or snacks, and garnishing vegetables and fruit salads. Due to its preservative properties, it is suitable for making varieties of pickles, chutney, and lemon-coriander soup. Dried coriander seeds are a great source of important minerals like calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus that improves bone density and reliefs in arthritis and osteoporosis.
